Over the last couple of years, we have been steadily developing our Net Zero Carbon experience, skills and knowledge and delivering new build NZC housing. We are also beginning to deliver retrofit NZC to existing affordable housing stock. We signed the 2030 RIBA Climate Challenge and also decided to look at our own footprint and our own impact so are super excited to announce we are now a Carbon Neutral Plus Organisation.

We worked with The Carbon Footprint Standard to analyse our business carbon usage, reduce what we were using and then offset the remaining carbon. It was a fascinating exercise to review how much carbon we generate and where we generate it - transportation methods for commuting, to site and to meetings; office heating and cooling; office lighting and amount and type of Hybrid working.

After reducing our Carbon footprint as far as we could by encouraging more sustainable transport modes, changing to low energy lighting etc. In addition, we decided we wanted to go beyond being just zero carbon so we decided to offset an additional 25% of our carbon usage through a number of community projects including providing fuel efficient stoves in North Darfur and Malawi, to become Carbon Neutral Plus.

It is really simple to do and there are some really simple changes that make a big difference so we are proud to do our small bit to address the climate change crisis with our business as well as our projects.
